Entering my 16th year as head men's volleyball coach at Springfield College, I am very excited about the opportunity to direct the Springfield Boys' Volleyball School. As a faculty member of the SC Physical Education Department, I enjoy teaching the game of volleyball. The camp is a great chance to teach with some colleagues of mine and watch my players do an excellent job coaching.
It is my aspiration that the Springfield Boys' Volleyball School will be the premeire volleyball camp for boys on the east coast. My goal is to direct a camp that will provide a comfortable learning environment to enhance the skills of all my players, from beginners to advanced, club and high school players. The camp will include instruction in skill technique, tactical strategies, and competition. I am confident that each camper will enjoy his experience with the Springfield Boys' Volleyball School.

Coach Charlie Sullivan
Sullivan will once again be an assistant professor of physical education at his alma mater. The 2013 season was highlighted by Sullivan's troops repeating as NCAA Division III National Champions after capturing the inagural title on their home court at Springfield College in 2012. In 2011, the Pride made an appearance in both the Molten Division III National Championship match as well as the EIVA Division I Championship match, falling in both. 2010 featured the Pride earning a home game in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Coaches Association (EIVA) Division I Tournament for the first time in program history. In 2008, Sullivan led the Pride to its fifth national championship as Springfield toppled Vassar in three games in front of a packed Blake Arena. He previously guided the Pride to three straight Molten Division III National Championships from 2001-03. SC's five national championships are the second most by a Division III program in the country. Sullivan was named the EIVA Division III Coach of the Year all four of his championship seasons. I wanted to take a moment to let you know that our son had a wonderful experience at your VB school. His excitement has already spread to his teammates and a group of them are talking about attending next year. I was very impressed with the organization of the event, the positive attitude of your players, and the facilities.
As a parent I put on a brave face and let my 16 year old do something new, I am glad to say it worked out better than expected. Your quick responses and approachability certainly eased my mind as well.
Charlie and two assistant coaches came to the American School in London here in England, to run a three-day volleyball clinic last May 2013. Within the first hour of working with our students Charlie knew almost every students name. The players at the clinic ranged in ability from one year of experience (just entering high school) to senior varsity players looking beyond high school. Despite the different levels he was still able to hone each of their skills. Using intense drills, cues and video, Charlie worked on fundamentals as well as more advanced skills.
His energy, positive-style of coaching and clear instruction resonated with the players and by the end of the three days he had not only formed bonds with all of the players, but had ignited passion and a drive to play volleyball. Charlie also had an impact on the coaching staff. He took the time to listen to us, tailored his sessions to our needs and gave us guidance about our program and upcoming season.
We are looking forward to Charlie coming back to England and working with our players. I couldn’t recommend Charlie highly enough in either tailoring a clinic at your school or sending a player to his camp.

Hey Coach, it's Matt West. I just wanted to say thank you for all the things you thought when i was a youngster. I was looking through old emails and I stumbled on the evaluation you gave me back in 2009 and I'm still developing on some of the things you touched on even then. I just wanted to say thank you for pushing me and being hard on me because it's paying off in the long term. Hope all is well.

My name is BLANK and I am the proud parent of high school senior BLANK. In speaking with her about her Volleyball season, she made mention of the team camp that you held with Coach Maxwell here at Southern a few years ago. She said that you took the time to teach her how to pass correctly which helped her become the awesome defensive specialist that she is today. I thought the fact that she credits you was worth mentioning and although you may not remember her, wanted you to know that you made an impact on her athletically and for that I thank you.
I hope that your VB season is successful and thank you again for the time you took to coach my daughter. She is off to college next year and will hopefully find a home playing the game she loves so much.
Please send good thoughts our way as tomorrow we enter into the 3rd round of the State Championship.
I just wanted to write and thank you for an awesome learning experience these past few days. I have attended three different camps over the past three summers including this one and of the three, I learned the most at Springfield Boy's Volleyball School. Your and the other coaches knowledge of the game improved my volleyball skill set so much that I cannot wait to go out and perform for my high school team again and share the things I learned with my coach and teammates. Once again thank you so much for an awesome session.
2011 Wrap up
Another great year of the Springfield Boys' Volleyball School has come and gone. We had a record number of campers this year coming from a variety of places including London England, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rode Island and Massachusetts. We had 10 campers from both Minnechaug High School in Massachusetts and Southington High School in Connecticut.
Our All-Star staff was awesome and included in our was 13 National Championship Victories, 14 All-American recipients, 2 National Player of the Year Awards, One National Coach of the Year Award, and three coaches who currently play professional volleyball. VERY IMPRESSIVE and the staff did a great job.
Camp activities included demonstrations and lectures from coaches and players, fundamental training, competitive analysis, positional training, a 1 v 1 tournament, and camp competitions. The campers were great, worked hard and represented our camp around campus in an exceptional manner. The dorms also consisted of some great billiards and ping pong games. Everything in all this year's edition was a great success, a lot of fun, and a great learning experience for all.
Thanks – Coach Charlie Sullivan
