Springfield College is rich in history. The same can be said about Coach Charlie Sullivan's Men's Volleyball team. Here are some interesting facts....
- There is no college in the country with more Div. III National Championships than Springfield College with 6.
- Springfield College competed in the Div. I final four in 1968, 1972, and 1976.
- During the 2003 season Springfield Defeated Div. I powerhouses USC and Ohio State. In the 2007 season, SC defeated UCSD 3-0 at home.
- William G. Morgan, a Springfield graduate, invented the game of volleyball in Holyoke, MA in 1895.
- The 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, &2011 Springfield teams had three or more players each year selected to the Div. III All-American team.
- Springfield College is the recipient of the volleyball hall of fame's court of honor award recognizing the institution for its significant contributions and longtime commitment to volleyball.
- The Pride has finished No. 1 in the final AVCA Division III National Poll an impressive seven times (1996, '97, '01, '02, '03, '08, '10).
