The Staff
It is our goal to have an excellent staff of coaches every year. These coaches bring their own experience as players and coaches, as well as the philosophy and coaching methods of Coach Sullivan to their courts.
Charlie Sullivan
Men’s Volleyball Coach at Springfield College from 1998 – present.
Coach Sullivan is in his 13th season as head coach of the men's volleyball team in 2011. He also once again is an assistant professor of physical education at his alma mater. In 12 previous years at the helm, Charlie has an overall record of 170-138 for a .552 winning percentage.
Sullivan earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Springfield College in 1991 and his master’s degree in physical education from SC in 1997.
- Led Springfield College to three straight Div. III National Championships; 2001, 2002, and 2003, as well as the 2008 and 2010 Campaigns
- Awarded the EIVA Div. III Coach of the year each of those seasons (01-03), and again in 2010
- Coached four years of Boys and Girls Volleyball in Rome, Italy at Marymount International School
- Coached in the “Seria A” first division pro league in Italy with team Macerata for the Fall of 2005
- Member of the USA Men’s National Team staff for the 2006 World Championships in Japan
- Assistant coach for the USA Men’s Junior National Team for both the 2002 and 2004 NORCECA regional qualifications for the World Championship
- Chosen by USA Volleyball as the Director for the pipeline high performance camp, summers 2006 & 2007
Chris James
Chris graduated from East Stroudsburg University, after which he continued his volleyball career professionally in Germany.
Upon returning to the States, Chris has served as the Graduate Assistant Coach for Springfield College, where he helped the team to their 6th Molten Invitational Championship.
Tyler Wingate
Tyler is a 2010 Graduate of Springfield College with a degree in Physical Education. Upon his many involvements with Springfield College's Volleyball program, Tyler is the Lead Data Systems Coordinator.
Coach Wingate also is the Assistant Women's coach for the AIC Yellowjackets, a women's Division II program. In the spring, Tyler can be found coaching his alma mater, Westfield High School.
Ricky Albano
Ricky is a 2005 Graduate of Springfield College, and was a member of the 2003 National Championship winning team. In his career at Springfield College, Albano recorded 355 career blocks.
In 2008 and 2009, Ricky was the Springfield College Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men's Volleyball program. Currently, Ricky coaches at RIT.
James Seitelman
James is a 2002 Graduate of Springfield College. He still holds the 2nd spot in both Career Blocks and Career Block Assists at Springfield.
Coach Seitelman was the Graduate Assistant for Springfield in the 2004 and 2005 seasons, and is a two time National Champion in both his junior and senior seasons.
AJ Nally
Nally, a 2010 Graduate of Springfield College, was the 2010 AVCA DIII National Player of the year, as well as the 2007 AVCA DIII Newcomer of the Year. A four time All-American, Nally helped the Pride capture two of its six National Championships. In his four years, he tallied 1,361 kills and set a program record in 2010 with 305 digs on the season.
Recently, AJ has been playing professionally in the Netherlands for Netwerk STV.
Mark Ribeiro
Mark is a 2009 Graduate of Springfield College. In his time at Springfield, Mark helped the team win its fifth National Championship in 2008. He was also lead the team in 2009 with 37 service aces, and was an All American as well.
Since graduating, Mark has trainied with the USA team in Anaheim, CA. He has also been playing volleyball professionally in Switzerland since 2010.
Bryn Kehoe
Bryn is a graduate of Stanford University. A setter, Bryn was a First Team All-American in 2007. She lead the nation in her senior season with 14.40 assists per game, and tallied a program-best 1,742 total assists on the year. While playing for the Cardinal, Bryn amassed 5,956 career assists.
Recently, Bryn has been playing volleyball professionally in Switzerland.
Cal Palumbo
Cal is a 6-4 Senior Middle Blocker for Springfield College. The four time All-American from Hilton, NY is a Sports Biology major.
Along with his All-American honors, Palumbo was named the 2011 AVCA Division III National Player of the Year, and the 2008 AVCA Division III Newcomer of the Year. In the 2010 season, Cal registered 299 kills hitting at .446 for the year as he helped the pride capture their 6th Molten Invitational Championship.
Mike Becker
Mike is a Sophomore Setter from Hempfield, PA. A Sport Management major, Becker guided the Pride offense in 2011, racking up an impressive 1283 assists. Becker's jumpserve was also an effective weapon for the pride as he lead the team in 2011 with 38 aces.
Becker will return in 2012 as a junior, as the pride will look to capture the inaugural NCAA DIII Volleyball Championship on its home floor in Blake Arena.
Mike Pelletier
A 6-3 Sophomore from Burnt Hills, NY, Mike was a crucial part of Springfield College's success in the 2010 and 2011 seasons. In 2011, Mike tallied 261 kills and 162 digs, and was a steady serve receiver for the pride, receiving 583 serves at a .962 percentage.
Pelletier was named to the 2010 EIVA Division III All Star team, and carried a 4.0 GPA in his freshman year at SC. In 2011, Mike landed a spot on the EIVA All-Academic team.
